Together! Work Together, Grow Together, Heal Together

A Workshop for Clergy, Professional Social Workers, Counselors and Nurses; Consumers, Families and Supporters of people living with mental illness

Issues of diversity, culture, treatment and faith intersect with mental health at many levels and in many ways. In our ever-changing and evolving society, it is becoming clearer that we can’t work, grow or heal alone; for true health and wellness, we must be in this together. The 1 in 3 conference brings together perspectives and conversation from the faith community, the treatment community and the family/consumer community to help build a bridge that connects these communities so that we can WORK, GROW and HEAL together.

Schedule and Speakers:

9:00 Introduction and opening prayer

9:15 – 10:00 Speaker 1– Pr. Charles Allen, Tabernacle of Faith: Why Together?

10:15 – 11:00 Speaker 2 – Dr. Farha Abbasi – Michigan State University: Diversity, Treatment & Faith

11:15 – 12:00 Speaker 3 – Mr. Cory Dobbelaere, Personal Story of Faith, Treatment & Recovery

12 – 12:45 Lunch

1 – 2 Break-out sessions

3 Tracks – Faith Community, Professionals, Families

2 :15 – 3:15 What does it mean to really do this together? Where do we go from here?

3:15 – 3:30 Wrap up, Certificates, Closing prayer

EventBrite Cost: $10 per person includes registration and lunch; $25 per person include registration, lunch and CEU’s ***CEU’s and Certificates of Attendance available for professionals
